In the February issue, Lydia Cecil’s advice when painting ‘Alla Prima’ has helped me prepare for my forthcoming exercise at my next art club lesson. The masterclass with Terence Clarke teaches us how to paint what might seem a simple subject and turn it into an exciting painting. I then studied the educational ‘Drawing in Detail’ by Laura Smith on how to paint eyes. Not only does this explain how to draw/paint eyes, but it taught me how to see and understand more when viewing a portrait. This and so much more, in just one issue.
