Thank you so much for your feature on Yorkshire, showing the north is far from being a cultural backwater, with wonderful galleries and thriving and supportive artistic communities here in God’s Own Country. Current highlights for me are the superb Eileen Agar Retrospective in Leeds until May, with Beyond Bloomsbury at York Art Gallery until June. The Ferens in Hull and the Mercer in Harrogate are also always well worth a visit. I work in paint, printmaking and photography but have just started going to tutored life classes at The Drawing Room in Leeds Library. I’m loving it, proving it’s never too late to try something new in art. So Jake Spicer’s features are perfectly timed! We are in such dicult times, but the last couple of issues have been packed full of glorious colour and real inspiration, conrming how powerful art can be and how creativity can give us muchneeded focus. Particularly moving in the May issue was the opening Solidarity editorial, featuring beautiful work by Ukrainian artists.
