As with all radical works of art, the establishment takes a while to catch on. For example, when Impressionism began to surface, it was mocked by the press. However, some Scots thankfully had the foresight to invest.

This round-up explores how these collectors have made Scotland home to one of the world’s greatest collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. Iconic artists included in the exhibition include Degas, Van Gogh, Monet, Pissarro and Cézanne.
