It might not seem like the most obvious connection, but 18th-century French art very much influenced some of the most popular animations of the 20th century. Proof of this comes in the form of works on paper and hand-drawn production artworks from the lms Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, which are now on show in the exhibition, Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts, at London's Wallace Collection. wallacecollection.org
