I’m an amateur painter in oils and acrylic. I trained as a draughtsman a long time ago and am an avid reader of Artists & Illustrators. In your May edition, your piece about art in Yorkshire didn’t mention the superb Ferens Gallery in Hull, which is a great city. Perhaps you were put o– by its terrible web site but it’s well worth a visit. The ArtUK website describes it as ‘one of the ˜nest regional art collections in the country.’ I would urge readers to visit if ever in the region.
