Thank you so much for your article on the work of Jake Spicer. I had begun a drawing in soft pastel, but took a break when it didn’t seem to be working. On reading the article I felt inspired to take up the pastel drawing again, this time with pastel pencils, which I used to accentuate the figures, along with the light and shade. An added benefit was that this gave the finished work more texture.
