I recently appeared on Drawers Off,a Channel4 art programme, presented by the comedian, Jenny Eclair. Amateur artists compete in a life drawing competition to reveal their naked ambition and win a cash prize. Anyone who followed the programme will know by now that I didn’t win. However, I’m a subscriber to Artists & Illustrators and just before the filming took place, the latest issue landed on my doorstep. I was delighted to read the article by Jake Spicer, where he showed how to draw a model using pastels and charcoals. It was a real boon and perfectly timed to give me inspiration before I took part in the programme. Thank you for a great feature on drawing the model; I have certainly learned a lot from it.
