FINISHING TOUCHES

At this late stage it’s important to avoid tinkering – any marks must really earn their place on the canvas. The most important additions were pools of light reflected in the water and coming through the plants on the near bank, and a darkening in the trees to bring that light into sharper contrast. I was happy I’d captured something of the dreamy tranquility I’d felt on that summer’s day by the canal. ▫
