Compton off to a flyer with victor y in the Cup

PRELIMINAR­Y matches of the Divisonal Cups were held on Wednesday night.

In the Division One Cup, Ian Redfern scored six registers, while Carl Wasylyszyn and Paul Jones had five each for Compton X as they beat Bowling Green 8-1 at home.

Colin Redfearn scored four registers and Mark Williamson hit a 100 finish for Bowling Green.

Shaun Coates hit seven registers and Gavin Ratcliffe had a 19-dart singles as Mayfield Arms won 8-1 at home to Shoulder B. Chris Fryer scored five registers for the Shoulder.

Mikey Ratcliffe scored five registers and Steve Morrison had a 76 finish for Roston B in a 7-2 home win against X-men. Stuart Allen hit four registers for the visitors.

Paul Williams scored nine registers for the Parwich Sycamore when they travelled to Tiger A and won 6-3. Guy Chambers and Les Pratchett both scored six registers for the hosts.

The Divison Two Cup saw Nags Head win 9-0 at Shoulder C.

Chris Whitbread scored five registers and had a 20-dart singles for the Nags.

Smiths Tavern, away to Mezzas Arms, won 6-3 with Jake Ford hitting an 86 finish. Dave Moss scored three registers and Mick Marshall had a 180 for the hosts.

Richard West hit a 180 for Boylestone Arrows during their 5-4 win at home to Tiger B, for whom David Naylore had a 98 finish.

In the Division Three Cup, Smith’s Tavern B saw Ian Bull hit four registers during their 6-3 home win against Double D.

Blubell KL travelled to White Swan and won 5-4 on the final doubles. Shaun Williamson scored three registers for the winners.

Royal Oak, at home to Denstone Tavern, won 7-2.

In the first of two preliminar­y matches in the Jennings Cup, Mayfield Arms won 8-1 away to X-men.

Deene Overton scored four registers, including a 180, for Mayfield and Steve Millward scored three registers for X-men.

Mezzas Arms travelled to Royal Oak and won 5-4 on the final doubles. Graham Green scored three registers for the hosts.

League matches start tonight (Wednesday) with these fixtures:

Division One: Roston Inn v Roston B; Shoulder A v Parwich Sycamore; Compton X v Mayfield Arms; X-men v Red Lion (Holl); Bowling Green v Wheel; Tiger A v Shoulder B.

Division Two: Shoulder C v Tiger B; Boylestone Arrows v Mezzas Arms; Smith’s Tavern v Ex-servicemen’s Club; Shire Horse v Crown Jewels; Nags Head v Black Horse B; Bye: The Bullets.

Division Three: Double D v Holly Bush; Wheelies v BGB; Denstone Tavern v Straight Outta Compton; Royal Oak v Bluebell. Byes: Smith’s Tavern B, White Swan.

Black Horse A have withdrawn from the league, which mean there are now two byes in Division Three each week. The option is there for teams involved to arrange a friendly with each other.
