Roston B take win against champs

THE first league matches of the Ashbourne Town Darts Leaguee season saw newly-promoted Roston B as the away team against champions Roston Inn.

The B team went 5-1 up after the singles and won 5-4.

Mikey Ratcliffe and Lyndon Collier both scored three registers and Aidy Redfern hit an 89 finish for the B. Nick Jeffery hit four registers, including a 120 double start, and Craig Brassingto­n had a 102 double start for the Inn.

Gavin Ratcliffe scored three registers and had a 19-dart singles, while Rob Smith hit a 180 and had a 16-dart singles as Mayfield Arms 5-4 away to Compton X on the final doubles.

Kim Robinson scored four registers for Compton.

Paul Williams scored three registers, including a 120 double start, Jonathan Edge scored three registers and Andy Cooper hit an 88 double start for Parwich Sycamore when they travelled to Shoulder A and won 7-2.

Wheel travelled to Bowling Green for a 7-2 win. Colin Redfearn scored three registers and Sam Dyche had an 88 finish and a 20-dart least darts for the hosts.

Chris Ford scored three registers, including a 112 double start, and Guy Chambers hit three registers for Tiger A during their 6-3 home win over Shoulder B. Martin Hill scored three registers for the visitors.

Red Lion (H) travelled to X-men and won 5-4 on the final doubles.

In Division Two, Marc Strzyzwesk­i scored six registers for Tiger B when they won 6-3 at Shoulder C.

Steve Burrows hit four registers for Smith’s Tavern during their 5-4 win at home against Ex-servicemen’s Club. Paul Cotton hit three registers for the visitors.

Mick Marshall scored three registers for Mezzas Arms as they won 5-4 away to Boylestone Arrows.

Richard Lowe scored three registers, including a 120 double start, for Nags Head when they were hosts to Black Horse B and won 7-2. Mark Wheeldon scored four registers for the visitors.

Mark Hitchcock hit three registers for Shire Horse during a 6-3 home win against Crown Jewels, for whom Craig Harrison had four registers.

Division Three saw Terry Chell scoring five registers and having a 21-dart singles for Straight Outta Compton in a 5-4 win at Denstone Tavern.

Bluebell KL travelled to Royal Oak and won 6-3. Sam Greatorex scored three registers for the hosts.

Double D, at home to Hollybush, won 6-3.

BGB had a 7-2 win when they were away to the Wheelies.

Jennings Cup first round draws will be made at a meeting on Thursday September 27 at Compton Social Club (8pm).

Player registrati­on sheets need to be returned at this meeting and outstandin­g league fees paid.
