Name: Andrea Field

Age: 54

Lives: in the beautiful rural village of Rodsley, just outside Ashbourne, with my partner Chris, and my cats, Bellamy and Bluebell.

Married: My wonderful partner and I have been together for 12 years, and have made a lovely home. No intention of getting married again (we both agree on that!)

Kids: Two amazing children. Alexandra, 24, Alex manages a nursing home near Nottingham, and Elliot, 20, is studying Primary Education at Leeds University. I also have a gorgeous five-year-old grandson, Leo.

You are: I suppose it’s not really for me to say, however Chris has sanctioned this! A lover of life. I like to believe I am a happy, positive, fun loving person. I love to socialize, I love holidays and I love my line of work. I am described as patient, loving, honest, hard working and smiley. I love being with my family, but do not spend enough time with them really. We all lead busy lives. I was once crowned Miss Burton. Yes it was a very long time ago!

Three things you like: Sunshine, music/concerts and Thai food

Three things you dislike: Bad manners, queuing and cars in the middle lane of the motorway.

Are you an Up’ard or Down’ard:

I believe I must be a Down’ard based on where I was born. I love Shrovetide, the enthusiasm, energy and atmosphere in Ashbourne during these days is incredible.

Where were you born and bred: I was born in Burton-on-trent and brought up in another beautiful village, Newton Solney.

Tell us more about your family: I am one of four children. Carl, Ian and Julie. We had a very happy, family orientated upbringing. Sadly my mother died rather young. My father, Alan, still lives in Newton Solney and is going strong. We were brought up to work hard and to have impeccable manners. This is something I have impressed upon my children as being very important as they go through life.

What do you do work wise? I have been running my own business, Elliots of Ashbourne, in the Market Place, for 20 years now. I sell beautiful furniture, home interiors and gifts. I love working in this environment, as you do meet some lovely people, people who have been buying from me for all these years. Hopefully, this is because of the unique nature of what I sell and the great customer service we provide.

What you are best at: Gosh, I’ve no idea. I do always look for the positive in people and situations. I also cook a great Thai curry!

Your ideal holiday: Anywhere with Chris and my friends and where the sun shines. Your favourite food: You may have guessed already. Thai curry.

Who you are inspired by: Margaret Thatcher and my mum.

What it would say on your epitaph: Carpe Diem.
