TRIBUTES have been paid to two “much-loved” mums who died in a car crash near Clifton early last week.

Nancy Walker, 49, from Swadlincote, and 26-year-old Tanya Hicklin, from Hatton, both died at the scene of the crash on Saturday, November 17, just after 11pm. The accidents took place on the A515 between a silver Mercedes C Class, and a white Renault Clio.

Mrs Walker, who was driving the Mercedes, was heading away from Ashbourne while Mrs Hicklin, in the Renault, was travelling in the opposite direction.

Both of the women’s families have paid tribute to them. Mrs Hicklin’s husband Tom, said: “Tanya was a much loved mother, daughter, granddaughter, wife and friend.

“She was a fun loving girl who doted on her family - and daughter even more.

“Tanya was very close to her grandparents and myself and enjoyed meeting up with her friends for drinks and coffees.

“She was a fantastic mum to Lilly Rose, she looked after me as her husband and she will be greatly missed following such a tragic event.”

The family of Nancy Walker said: “Nancy was a very proud and caring mum of two. She inspired many with her work and aspiration in life.”

Officers from Derbyshire Police are appealing as they want to speak to anyone who might have seen the crash or anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident.

People are asked call in and quote reference number 18*557391 and ask for DC Siddall, who is the officer leading the case.
