Pubs caught out in police licence check
NOT one out of eight pubs that were visited by police officers during a Friday night operation in the town centre was found to be fully complying their licensing terms.
And, of the eight town centre pubs, three of those visited failed to check the ID of under-18 volunteers sent in by police to see if they would be served.
The three who failed the surprise test have all been given fixed penalty notices but Derbyshire police says it cannot name them because of data protection and because cases are ongoing.
The other five pubs are all now working with lincensing officers to improve their practices around the licence requirements. No action has been taken against them.
