Vil­lagers set to get fes­tive

VIL­LAGERS in Hog­nas­ton are start­ing a big pro­gramme of fes­tive cel­e­bra­tions on Sun­day, by turn­ing on a spec­tac­u­lar dis­play of Christ­mas light at St Bartholomew’s church on Sun­day at noon.

In­side the church will be lit up with some 30 trees dec­o­rated by res­i­dents, vil­lage groups and lo­cal busi­ness spon­sors.

Among the events will be a fes­ti­val con­cert on De­cem­ber 22, which is an all-vil­lage pro­duc­tion fea­tur­ing Hog­nas­ton Choir, mu­si­cians and soloists – and will pre­mier the Hog­nas­ton Carol spe­cially com­mis­sioned for the fes­ti­val.

Tick­ets for the mati­nee at 2.30pm and evening con­cert at 7.30pm are priced at £7.50 and are avail­able by email­ing [email protected]

Other events in­clude an ad­vent cal­en­dar tak­ing place around the vil­lage with a new win­dow on dis­play each day un­til Christ­mas Eve.

A carol ser­vice will be in the church at 4pm on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 23.
