● Thieves grabbed more than £2,000 of children’s clothes during an overnight smash-and-grab raid at Acorn Country Store in Horse and Jockey Yard. The shop, which suffered £200 worth of damage was able to open the next day after suppliers rallied round to help it restock.

● It was all systems go for what was promised to be the biggest and brightest late night shopping ever in Ashbourne. The decorations were due to be switched on on the night and shops were getting ready for a busy evening.
