ASK DIARMUID

-

Q Can you name this plant that’s in my garden please? Ken

A That’s Gladiolus murielae, also known as the peacock orchid. It’s a very beautiful flowering corm with a wonderful fragrance.

It is tender, having its origins in Eastern Africa, so make sure to get it lifted as soon as possible and store over winter, as you would a dahlia tuber or other tender bulbs or corms.
