Police warn on VW thefts

POLICE have issued a warning to the owners of Volkswagen Golfs after a series of parts thefts.

Officers say thieves are targeting the hatchbacks to steal front bumpers from them and “a number of” thefts have been reported so far.

Police are asking owners to take a precautions to counteract this and make vehicles harder to target.

Officers advice to park forwards on a driveway to ensure the bumper is facing a building, to avoid parking in secluded areas and to install security lighting. To report anything suspicious call 101.
