Name: Jen Lomas

Age: 34

Lives: Aldwark

Married? Sort of...

Kids? Two.

About you: It’s difficult to say this about yourself honestly, but I’d say I’m honest, loyal, hilarious, a general pain in the bum. I’m always late, no matter how important. If I like you I’ll tell you why. I speak my mind whenever I can. I can nearly always see good in people. Spontaneous, daft and terrible in a quiz!

Three things you like: nice people.

Three things you dislike: Bad manners, dishonesty, and anyone who thinks they’re better than anyone else.

Are you an Up’ard or a Down’ard? Up’ard, I think.

Born and bred: Derbyshire born and bred. I grew up in the middle of nowhere on a hill between Aldwark and Pikehall. I have travelled but I love it here most!

Family matters: Ian my “husband” has a strong mind, is strong willed, has a strong work ethic and is very handsome! Fran, my eldest at 10 years old, is all of the above. Won’t wear a dress and is terrifying.

Max, my youngest at nine years old Food, coffee, is a boy and also fiery, determined, loving, and wears shorts all year round. Dips, our lovely Labrador, loves food, follows me wherever

I go and loves food. We live our life around jobs mostly. We aren’t day-trippers. We all work together, not always in perfect harmony but it works and we smile everyday. We eat most of our meals all together, and have a great time together. Work-wise: I farm a small beef and sheep farm in the hills of the Peak District; general mother and house duties, brewing assistant and head of sales and marketing on our brewery, Aldwark Artisan Ales.

What are you best at? Procrastination and cheering you up!

Your ideal holiday: A villa in the Italian mountains, no humans apart from my humans.

Your favourite food: All food! Mostly pizza, beef, tapas and anything my mum cooks! Tasty...

Who inspires you? My grandparents. They lived a long happy life with each other. They worked hard and were committed to their family and their farm. My other half; his energy and ambition to do his best never fails. My aunt Liz, I love her. Kind and honest, the best human I’ve ever met. And my parents. Both strong and awesome in their own unique ways.

If you ruled the world, what is the one thing you would change? I’d make meanness a punishable crime. I think that would pretty much sort the rest out.

What would it say on your epitaph? Punctual... Lol!
