● West Derbyshire District Council pledged to take action on the “parking chaos” that was being seen around Ashbourne, by devising a better system of signage to encourage people to use all the town’s car parks. Motorists have been using access roads and housing estates to park vehicles, while the free car park at Cokayne Avenue remained empty. ● West Derbyshire District Council turned down a plea to build a new skateboard park in Ashbourne, because councillors felt the sport was little more than a “passing fad”.
