Several close Darley races

-

In the solo classes, the second Pre-injection/mini Sound of Thunder race was won by Buxton’s Tim Walsh only 0.13 of a second ahead of Stuart Bradbury.

Bradbury took the honours in the opening race, with Walsh second.

Chris Moore (High Peak) took the first Cb500/lightweight race win by 0.4 of a second after chasing down fellow High Peak racer James Ford, passing him on the penultimate lap.

Ford took the second race after Moore was handed a 10-second penalty for jumping the start.

Mark Brailsford (Chesterfield) took the CB500 class win with Liam Clements (Newcastle under Lyme) second.

Tony Griffiths (Pontypridd) took the overall win in the second Classic & Forgotten Era race on his 251cc–500cc class machine, enjoying a 10-second advantage over Geoff Martin (Telford) on a 501cc– 1300cc machine.

Martin won the first race, though, when Griffiths failed to complete a lap.

Graham Oakley (Chesterfield) recorded a double victory in the up-to-250cc class with two eighth places overall.

Mcauley Longmore (Willenhall) was first past the chequered flag in both combined Junior/senior races.

Fans of four-wheeled motor sport saw Chris Purdie (North Shields) take a start to finish victory in the first

Superkart UK Championship race but in the second race he had to settle for second. After leading the opening lap he was passed by Mark Gellatly (Stafford), who went on to win.

In all, it was excellent racing in ideal weather and the organisers have fingers crossed for more of the same for round five at Darley Moor on Sunday, August 4.
