-

DERBY College Group (DCG) is holding three virtual open days this month to support Year 11 pupils considering their options this September.

These will include the new T Levels available in Professional Construction, Digital Production, Design and Development and Childcare and Education.

These are equivalent to Alevels with a strong focus on work-based learning.

Anyone who has already applied but who wants further information on the study programmes and advice and guidance in light of the cancellation of GCSES this summer are also encouraged to log on.

Everyone needs to preregister for any of the online events they want to join beforehand with details availwww.derby-college.ac.uk/ news-events/events.

DCG Vice Principal Kate Martin explained: “These are uncertain times for anyone looking at their future options but particularly Year 11 school pupils who should have been taking their GCSE’S this summer.

“These young people are therefore our priority for these new virtual open days to ensure that they are clear about the options available to them and how to apply in these unprecedented times.

“Although the ideal way is to speak to our teaching and support teams face to face, everyone here has been working hard to ensure that the written and visual information is as comprehensive as possible and the live chat rooms will be staffed to ensure clear one to one advice and guidance.

“Moving forwards, further events will be organised to focus more specifically on our higher education, apprenticeships and adult part time offer and we will be publishing details in the near future.”
