MP rates sixth in county for expenses claimed
ASHBOURNE’S MP Sarah Dines has appeared at number six in a ranking of all 11 Derbyshire MPS, listed in terms of how much they spent on expenses
The Conservative Derbyshire Dales MP, who superseded
Sir Patrick Mcloughlin in December 2019, claimed a total of £10,839.38 since April, and spent the most on travel £1,054.05 - £221.80 of which was spent on her staff.
According to a study by our website Derbyshire Live, this puts her sixth in the list of Derbyshire MPS - with Robert Largan, a Tory MP for the High Peak, topping the table.
Mr Largan spent the most across all of Derbyshire’s MPS, claiming £25,666.71 - with his largest expense coming from office costs where he spent £14,542.95.
Heather Wheeler, Conservative MP for South Derbyshire, was second and she claimed £15,635.73. Her biggest expense was £7,000 on accommodation rent.
Mark Fletcher, Conservative MP for Bolsover, claimed £14,542.57 with £8,539.24 being spent on office costs.
At the bottom of the list, in number 11, was Dame Margaret Beckett, the Labour MP for Derby South, who claimed just £2,161.14. Her biggest expense was office costs at £1,225.14.
