NO HARD CELL
Make the most of our new freedoms after lockdown with a luxury escape... to a former 18th- century prison.
Once home to hundreds of criminals and the site of 55 executions, the newly opened Bodmin Jail Hotel in Cornwall, above, is housed in the former Civil and Naval Wings.
A night in the slammer has never been more stylish – with each room transformed from three prison cells, retaining original features including the barred windows, weathered stone walls and ceilings.
The hotel is part of a £50million project incorporating the adjacent Bodmin Jail attraction, which opened in October 2020. Rooms start from £222. bodminjailhotel. com
