Liz Hitch, leader of Hartington Sings, said: “We have re-grouped after two years following Covid restrictions and we are delighted to be joining in Christmas events.

“We practise a variety of songs and carols, at our weekly Wednesday rehearsals, with around 20 folk, ranging from seven years to 80 plus.”

The village is also taking part in a reverse advent calendar event to support a food bank, with Hartington’s 12 days of giving.

Donations can be made every day from 10am to 4pm up to Sunday December 12 at collection boxes in the Village Hall and St Giles’ Church. On Friday, December 17, carol singing will take place at the Christmas tree on the Village Green from 4.30pm until 5pm.
