Supermarket starts recruitment drive with more than 40 vacancies
A RECRUITMENT drive has started at Ashbourne’s Aldi supermarket, and bosses say they are on the lookout for more than 40 new colleagues across three stores in the area, including at Carnation Way.
The firm says it wants to find 46 store assistants to work at supermarkets in Carnation Way, and in Uttoxeter when a new store opens in the spring, and at another forthcoming store in Rykneld Road, Derby.
Aldi has not said how many jobs are available in each store, but a spokesman has said its store assistants earn £10.10 per hour, rising to £11 per hour.
Flexible 15–30-hour contracts are available, with optional overtime and 28 days’ holiday.
Kara Greatorex, regional managing director at Aldi, said: “We are really excited about the job creation across Ashbourne, Uttoxeter and Derby.
“Aldi’s increased popularity and customer demand for quality products allows us to keep growing and create more and more new employment opportunities across the region.
“Working at Aldi means more than just having a job; we really care about our colleagues, both personally and professionally.
“On top of our fantastic inclusions, such as the competitive pay and benefits package, Aldi continues to offer a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business.
“We take immense pride in supporting the career development of all our colleagues and invest time and resource in them, in order to keep everyone motivated, fully engaged, continuously challenged and importantly, happy.”
Store assistants are employed to carry out responsibilities such as accurate and efficient till operation, stock management and merchandising.
Full training will be provided over a six-week period.
