New website lets firms know the Dales means business
DERBYSHIRE Dales District Council has launched a website aimed at attracting new businesses to the area.
The scheme is part of a new ‘Invest in Derbyshire Dales’ branding initiative to support the authority’s corporate objectives for economic growth and support economic recovery as the district emerges from the pandemic.
Authority bosses say the initiative aims to establish a clear identity for the Derbyshire Dales, making it distinct from other areas of Derbyshire and the UK.
The aim is to attract new firms to the area, and to encourage existing Dales businesses to stay in the area and grow, sustainably.
Council leader Garry Purdy said: “The Invest in Derbyshire Dales website aims to provide a comprehensive source of information including on the area’s strategic development sites, commercial property search, grants and loans, how to start and run a business and facts and figures on the local economy.
“The website features specially commissioned photography and a video about the benefits of running a business in the Dales, plus video interviews with three local business champions.
“The site has been developed in-house and will be managed by the council’s economic development team.”
The launch will be supported by social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin and is set up to offer multiple channels for the council to communicate with businesses.
The initiative will run alongside existing partnerships for economic development including Business Peak District and Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire and it has been designed to complement the broader Invest in Derbyshire initiative.
