Fundraising Pink Ribbon Walk gets back in step at Chatsworth House

-

BREAST Cancer Now’s fundraising Pink Ribbon Walk is returning to the majestic Chatsworth House next month, and outdoor lovers are being urged to step forward and take part.

The charity’s much-loved event has so far raised more than

£14 million for world-class breast cancer research and support since its first walkers crossed the finish line in 2005.

Although the pandemic forced the event to be cancelled in the past two years, organisers say they hope more people than ever sign up to this year’s events to help change the future of breast cancer.

Claire Pulford, associate director of community and events at Breast Cancer Now, said: “Over the past two years the Covid-19 pandemic forced us to cancel our fundraising events, including our Pink Ribbon Walks, at a time when disruption caused by the pandemic also meant people affected by breast cancer needed us more than ever.

“This is why we’re so delighted to once again be inviting everyone to put their best foot forward this year and to get sponsored to join us for one of our Pink Ribbon Walks.

“Whether it’s a unique venue or breath-taking views you’re looking for, this is a chance to come together with friends and family, or to walk solo, for an enjoyable day while making a real difference to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Each walk has a 10 or a 20-mile option and participants can take on the challenge in a group, on their own, or with their favourite fourlegged companion.

Walkers will be supported all the way with a clearly marked route, trained guides and regular rest stops with snacks - allowing those taking part to soak up the scenery and focus on reaching the finish line.
