Bowling Green battle but spoils go to Mayfield

REGGIE Robinson scored seven registers, Shaun Coates hit six and Rob Smith had two 180’s and a 13 dart leg in his singles for the Mayfield Arms during their 8-1 win at home against the Bowling Green.

Despite the scoreline, Bowling Green put up a good fight taking the first four singles to the deciding leg, while Colin Wignall had six registers, Sam Handley five and Cal Rowland hit a 69 finish in two darts, single 19 and the bull.

Billy Upton had six registers and Tom Fentem hit five including a 180 for the Sycamore, when they were away to the X-men and won the match 7-2. Steve Millward scored five registers including a 180 for the X-men.

Gav Ratcliffe hit four registers and had a 20 dart leg in his singles, Mark Goodson and Nathan Garside also hit four registers for the Mayfield C when they were away to the Memorial Arms and won 6-3. Mick Marshall scored four registers for the hosts.

The Bullets travelled to the B.G.B and won 6-3. Chris Latham scored four registers and had an 80 double start, while John Matkin had four registers for the visitors. Rich Goodall scored four registers for the home team.

The Rams travelled to the Rose & Crown and won 5-4 on the final doubles. Paul Barlow scored five registers including a 97 finish for the visitors.

Shaun Williamson scored four registers and Jason Glanville had a 102 finish for the Rose & Crown.

The Cricketers had a 5-4 win at home against Smith’s Tavern. Rich Lowe scored eight registers including a 130 finish, Carl Allen scored six registers including a 120 double start, Sean Millward hit a 180 and John Ford Junior had a 17 dart leg in his singles for the hosts. Jake Ford scored nine registers and had a 115 double start for the visitors.

In Division Two, Martin Sheard and Chris Bates both hit three registers for the Yew Tree during their 8-1 home win against the S.O. Compton.

Kieron Moon scored three registers for the Wheel when they were away to the Hanging Bridge and won 7-2. Terry Chell hit a 96 double start for the home team.

Hugh Kirkpatric­k and Paul Jones both scored four registers for the Big Hitters during their 6-3 win at home against the Royal Oak. Toby Ainsworth scored three registers for the Royal Oak. White Swan have won their first match, beating The Pav 5-5 after coming back from 4-2 down in the singles. Jake Edge hit three registers for the White Swan. Marcus Lumbard scored three registers for The Pav.

Lester James hit three registers and had a 21 dart singles for the Crown Inn when they were at home to the Ex Serviceman’s Club and came back from 4-2 down to win 5-4. Richard Smith hit four registers for the visitors.

Paul Forrester scored four registers for the Holly Bush at home against Red Lion and won 5-4. Ryan Austin hit a 100 finish for the Red Lion.

The Ladies Singles and Doubles Knockout will be held at the Compton Social Club on Wednesday, December 20. Players need to register by 7.30pm. Entry fee is £2 per player (includes raffle ticket).
