All to play for at top and bottom

WITH three league matches to go, everything is still to play for at both ends of Ashbourne Town Darts League Division One.

It remains a shoot-out between the Sycamore and Mayfield Arms at the top, with both teams winning 8-1 in the latest round of matches, leaving Sycamore still a point ahead.

Tom Fentem hit 10 registers and had two 18-darts, Paul Williams hit two 180s, Jonathan Edge had a 160 double start and Andy Cooper had a 16-dart leg for the leader as they saw off The Cricketers at home.

Rich Lowe hit six registers for The Cricketers.

Rob Smith scored eight registers and Deene Overton had a 112 double start in Mayfield’s matching win, which was away to The Rams.

Steve Ratcliffe hit a 180 for The Rams, but they are bottom of the table, where six points separate the bottom five.

Bowling Green, second bottom, were beaten 7-2 at home by BGB.

Dave Spencer scored seven registers, including a 180, and had an 81 finish and a 15-dart leg, Steve Coates had an 80 double start and Monty Lyon had a 74 double start for BGB.

Dave Moss hit five registers for Memorial Arms as they did their chances of staying up no harm with a 5-4 win at home to Rose & Crown, for whom Shaun Williamson had a 94 finish.

The Bullets also pulled away from danger with a 7-2 home win over Smith’s Tavern.

Harrison Mcmullen had a 96 double start for The Bullets. Jake Ford had five registers for the Tavern.

Gavin Ratcliffe scored six registers and had a 17-dart leg for Mayfield C in their 5-4 win at home to X-men.

Steve Millward hit seven registers and had a 19-dart leg and Ben Weston hit an 85 finish for X-men.

In Division Two, it looks more clear-cut, with The Wheel winning 8-1 away to The Pav to stretch their lead to 13 points.

John Moon scored four registers and Erik Curley had a 100 finish for them.

Second-placed Big Hitters won 7-2 away to Yew Tree.

Aaron Robinson scored three registers, including a 100 double start, and Paul Jones added three registers for the visitors, while Chris Bates had a 76 double start for Yew Tree.

Ex Serviceman’s Club are six points behind in third after a 6-3 home win against Hanging Bridge, Paul Cotton and Sam Howard both scoring three registers.

Holly Bush won 5-4 on the final doubles away to Royal Oak with Paul Forrester hitting a 180, while Toby Ainsworth had an 82 double start for the Oak.

SO Compton won 8-1 at homes to Crown Inn.

The Divisional Cup first round matches are this Wednesday, March 13.
