Sycamore off to a flyer in Jennings

SYCAMORE began their Jennings Cup campaign with a 9-0 win at home to Royal Oak with Paul Williams and Andy Cooper both hitting five registers, including a 180.

Dave Needham hit five, Deene Overton had four and Rob Smith hit a 180 for Mayfield Arms when they beat Exservicem­en’s Club 8-1.

Smith’s Tavern won

6-3 at home to The Rams with Colin Terry scoring four registers. Steve Woolliscro­ft had a 180 for The Rams.

BGB, away to Bowling Green, won 6-3.

Dominic Harrison had a 19-dart leg for BGB and Shaun Salt scored four registers, including a 180, for Bowling Green.

Wheel won 6-3 away to X-men with Carl Moon scoring three registers.

Steve Millward and Julian Burton both scored three and Kev Pattinson hit a 180 for X-men.

Big Hitters came back from 4-2 down to beat Rose & Crown 5-4 at home.

Sean Astbury-jones had a 92 double start for the hosts.

Memorial Arms won the final doubles for a 5-4 win against The Bullets.

Dave Moss hit a 180 and had a 20-dart leg, Edd Wilson had a 76 double start and Mick Marshall a 73 finish for the hosts.

John Matkin had a

112 double start, Ady Swinfield a 22-dart leg and Billy Bates had a 23dart leg for The Bullets.

Mayfield C had a 5-4 win away to The Pav with Nathan Garside scoring three registers and having a 16-dart leg.

Tonight (Wednesday) sees the last round of league matches with Mayfield Arms and Sycamore going head to head for the Division One title.

The final draws for the Jennings, Consolatio­n and Divisional Shields/ Cups will be made at a league meeting on Thursday, April 11 (8pm) at Compton Social Club.

The Mixed Doubles knockout will be held on Wednesday, April 17, at Mayfield Memorial Hall.

Entry fee is £2 per player and this includes a raffle ticket.

The finals and presentati­on evening is Friday, May 24 at the same venue.
