The out­let is ex­pected to cover a to­tal area span­ning 700,000 square feet, nearly dou­ble the size of one of the firm’s typ­i­cal ware­houses and equiv­a­lent to the area of al­most 11 football pitches.

Along­side the store, set to be sit­u­ated in Manila, the fa­cil­ity will in­clude an ecom­merce fa­cil­ity and an in-house call cen­tre.

The new build will be a sub­stan­tial in­crease on IKEA’s largest ex­ist­ing store in South­east Asia, cur­rently lo­cated in Jo­hor Bahru, Malaysia and span­ning just over 500,000 square feet.
