Two dealers sentenced after police seized drugs

TWO drug dealers have been sentenced after police seized cannabis, crack cocaine and cash in Tamworth.

J’von Allen-Brade and Kemarl Campbell, both aged 23 and from Birmingham, were stopped in a car park on Ellerbeck in January last year.

Officers seized cannabis, 13 wraps of crack cocaine, mobile phones and £305 in cash.

When they examined the phones, they also found messages linked to drug supply.

Both men were questioned about the findings in custody and later charged with drug supply offences.

Allen-Brade and Campbell were sentenced at Stafford Crown Court. Allen-Brade, of Beckham Avenue, Birmingham, was sentenced to two years and five months in jail having pleaded guilty to being concerned in offering to supply heroin, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possessing cannabis and failing to surrender to police/court bail at appointed time.

While Campbell, of Woodland Road, Birmingham, was given a two-year sentence which was suspended for two years after he pleaded guilty to being concerned in offering to supply heroin, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possessing cannabis.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Bradbury, who oversaw the case, said: “I’m happy we’ve been able to stop two dealers who were intent on distributing harmful drugs within our communities.

“Officers across the force are committed to proactively targeting drug supply and will continue to act on intelligence leads and reports from the public to bring these people to justice.”

The activity follows Staffordshire Police’s ongoing commitment to tackling serious and organised crime and protecting those who are at risk of exploitation through criminals called Operation Target.

Work is continuing to proactively target the groups responsible for these crimes including county lines, drug distribution, illegal firearms and sexual exploitation.
