Police investigate stolen boiler after fire in home
POLICE think a boiler was stolen as they investigate a serious fire at a new build estate in Tamworth.
The shocking incident happened at Meadow Lane off Ashby Road in the early hours of last Thursday morning, April 4.
Pictures taken in the aftermath of the blaze show the extent of the damage to the roof with the property still cordoned off.
Thankfully all of the homes were unoccupied at the time and the fire was extinguished with gas and electric supplies of nearby properties isolated to make sure the area was safe.
Police investigations continue and an appeal for information has been launched.
Staffordshire Police confirmed: “We are appealing for information following a house fire at a new build estate in Tamworth.
“We went to Meadow Lane just before 3am on Thursday (4 April). Firefighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were already there at the time.
“The fire was extinguished and gas and electric supplies of nearby properties were isolated to make sure the area was safe. All of the homes were unoccupied at the time. At this stage, we think a boiler was stolen from one of the homes.

At the time during the incident, Staffordshire FIre and Rescue Service said: “We remain at the scene of a new build estate in Tamworth following a house fire.
“Crews got a call just after 2.30am on Thursday morning (4 April) to Ashby Road after smoke and flames were seen at a home on the estate. The fire has since been extinguished by firefighters on scene.
“Gas and electric supplies of nearby properties have been isolated and the homes were unoccupied at the time of the incident.
“Fire investigators are on scene carrying out investigations to the cause of the fire.”
