Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries
A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injuries in a horror early morning crash involving two cars and a bike near Drayton Manor theme park.
The incident happened on the A4091 at Drayton Bassett before 7am last Thursday, April 4. Police closed the road for a significant period of time as part of the investigation.
A man, the motorcyclist, was assessed at the scene and had sustained serious injuries so was taken to QE Hospital. Two men who were the drivers of the cars, a Vauxhall Astra and a Ford Fiesta, had minor injuries and were not taken to hospital.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed: “A motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Drayton Bassett.
“We were called at 6.45am to a collision involving two cars and a motorcyclist on the A4091 in Drayton Basett. Two ambulances, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.
“Upon arrival we found a man who was the motorcyclist. He was assessed and had sustained serious injuries.
“He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.
“Two men who were the drivers of the cars had sustained minor injuries. They received self care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.”
Staffordshire Police added: “We were called at 6.50am on
Thursday morning to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and two cars on the A4091 at Drayton Bassett.
“The collision involved a Kawasaki motorbike, a Vauxhall Astra and a Ford Fiesta. The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
“Witnesses are asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident 111 of 4 April, or message us using Live Chat on our website.”
