Outdoor theatre is returning to the Castle Grounds
OUTDOOR theatre is returning to Tamworth’s Castle Grounds this summer and tickets are on sale now.
Tamworth Borough Council is inviting families to enjoy four classic shows this June, July and August.
Join Oddsocks Productions for Julius Caesar in June; Jellyfish Theatre for The Wagon of Dreams: The Dragon Wagon in July and Tethered Wits Ltd for the Railway Children and Jeeves and Wooster in August, all on the outdoor stage.
The four shows will take place on the lower lawn of the Castle Grounds near the bandstand, with the stunning Tamworth Castle in the background providing a beautiful space to enable families to bring picnic blankets or chairs and settle themselves in their own areas for the performance. Audiences are asked to not bring alcohol, glass or gazebos.
Adey Ramsel, theatre, artistic and events manager for Tamworth Arts and Events and Assembly Rooms, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring not one, but four amazing outdoor theatre performances to Tamworth this summer.
“We are eager to showcase these productions from our beautiful Castle Grounds and feel really lucky to have our large and picturesque Castle Grounds which enables people to come and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment with their families.
“Jeeves and Wooster is suitable for children over the age of 7 and The Railway Children is suitable for children over the age of 5. The Wagon of Dreams is best suited for children aged 4-8 and Julius Caesar is fun for everybody. Tickets are on sale, so get booking now!”
