Hoka One One Bondi 6
Stockist: hokaoneone.eu Before the brand became as popular in the UK as it is today, mainly thanks to the Clifton shoe, the Bondi was the brand’s most popular model in the USA. It was the shoe which essentially “broke the mould” as to how running shoes should be made.
With its ultra-deep midsole cushioning it changed the way many people thought about cushioning and carved a new niche for itself that has become more and more mainstream.
This update to the Bondi retains many of its original features with improvements primarily focused around fit and feel. The cushioning is 33mm deep in the heel, dropping from 4mm to 29mm in the forefoot – so don’t think simply because it has such deep cushioning it will feel like a more cushioned version of a regular shoe. That 4mm drop makes the foot feel lower and flatter against the ground.
At 310g the shoe feels very light for something as big on your foot but after a few miles that extra size cushioning becomes easier to get along with. For high mileage runners wanting great cushioning, the Bondi is a great option.
