RADIO WAVES HELP TO REDUCE DELHI SMOG

Athletics Weekly - - Dip Finish -

LAST weekend’s Delhi Half-Marathon race used ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio waves to clear the air for the 35,000 runners.

Organisers believe the experimental technique helped to improve the city’s notorious air quality by about 30%.

The race also took place earlier this year to avoid the Diwali festival, held in November, when the firecrackers are set off.
