Travis Alabanza will provide food for thought when they hit the road with their first full- length theatre show, Burgerz. After a burger was thrown at them on London’s Waterloo Bridge in broad daylight — no one intervened — Travis decided to reclaim the act to try to make sense of the daily violence that happens to them and other trans bodies. “To exist as a gender- non- conforming person particularly, but all trans people, is to face harassment from all sides. I’m shouted at by children, gawked at by mothers, followed home by men,” they said previously. Burgerz, in association with Hackney Showroom, tours the UK from 19 October until 17 November. Travis will also perform at Homotopia in Liverpool on 18 November.
