NICK HITS TOP NOTE
The latest from Nick Jonas’ collaboration with designer John Varvatos is new fragrance, JV x
NJ, which will sit alongside the pair’s seven- piece capsule collection. With top notes of mandarin, kaffir lime leaves and pink pepper, heart notes of sage, rosemary and lavender and base notes of sandalwood and ambrox, it’s the next best thing to having a sniff of Nick Jonas in real life. Here Nick talks about John and his inspiration for the scent.
What’s the best thing about John Varvatos?
He has created a legacy brand, he’s brilliant at what he does and has a good sense of how to make a man feel comfortable and confident. John Varvatos has a combination of classic men’s tailoring with a bit of that rock’n’roll rebel edge to it, which I think gives it a good twist.
What’s your favourite thing about this fragrance?
I wanted it to be a reflection of my lifestyle, in that I am always on the go, whether it’s to a black- tie event, or just to a night out with friends. We talked about giving it a personal element and creating something that will work in many different places and make whoever wears it comfortable and confident. It has become that for me now.
Where do you most like to spray your cologne on yourself?
I am a six- sprayer! I do a couple of times on the neck, top of the head, chest and back, then I do one in the air and walk through it.
What are your favourite scents?
Sandalwood is one piece of the puzzle with our fragrance, which I was excited we got in. Also, I love firewood- burning up in the mountains. I spend a lot of my time snowboarding and so on, so that sort of musk, wood- burning to me is one of the best smells — and now my fragrance with John Varvatos is, too.
