Meet Joan, a gentleman who tries to overturn the heteronormativity of the care system after landing in a suburban home. Along the way, he unexpectedly finds love. That’s the premise of Swansong, written and directed by Nathan Evans, and starring Lavinia Co- op ( right). “This is a story that’s not been told — gay love in a care home,” Nathan says. The comedy opens at Royal Vauxhall Tavern, London, on 17 October, followed by the Marlborough Theatre, Brighton, on 27 October.
