Timothee Chalamet lit up our screens in Call Me By Your Name, but even his many dedicated fans might admit that this glum, overwrought domestic drama — based on journalist David Sheff’s account of his son Nick’s battle with heroin addiction — is a bit of a slog. Chalamet acquits himself well as a teen on the brink of selfdestruction, but better things surely lie ahead for him. 18 January
