MARSHA P. JOHNSON
Marsha P. Johnson arrived at the Stonewall Inn around 2am on 28 June 1969 — after the police raided the bar — and joined the riots. She went on to become an outspoken advocate for the community as a founding member of the Gay Liberation Front a year later when she participated in the first Christopher Street Liberation Pride rally on the first anniversary of the Stonewall rebellion in June 1970.
