MARSHA P. JOHNSON

Marsha P. Johnson arrived at the Stonewall Inn around 2am on 28 June 1969 — after the police raided the bar — and joined the riots. She went on to become an outspoken advocate for the community as a founding member of the Gay Liberation Front a year later when she participat­ed in the first Christophe­r Street Liberation Pride rally on the first anniversar­y of the Stonewall rebellion in June 1970.
