My boyfriend has always said I’m out of this world, so in an effort to validate his observation I decided it was time to seek scientific verification through a DNA test to find out if indeed I am of celestial origin.

Step forward rightangled. co, the online DNA test. Offering cardiac health, diet and fitness DN A tests, they include personalised action plans fr om renowned cardiologists and personal trainers that are built around your environment, lifestyle, genetic make up and g oals. It won’t provide existence of my alleged otherworldliness, but when it comes t o delivering a detailed overview of the earthly body I inhabit, it has provided some useful insights.

The Heart DNA Test (£ 119) identifies glitches that can inc rease ( or decrease) your cardiovascular risks, impact on your response to heart medications, or your chances or having abnormal cholesterol levels. Family history of medical illnesses such as heart disease are also flagged up. The Fitness DNA Test (£ 149) helps you understand how you can optimise muscle growth, shed excess body fat, manage blood- sugar levels, or benefit from your coffee sensitivity and food intolerances.

The Wellness Pro (£ 199) test combines both.

The pack delivered through your letterbox comes with a swab to collect saliva from your inner cheek. Simply post it back to their lab for analysis and a couple weeks later your results are ready to view online. The reports come with personalised medical assessment and eight weeks of tailored training and diet programmes.

My Fitness DNA Test identified areas of concern such as lact ose intolerance — something I’d diagnosed for myself but have never received confirmation of from a medical professional. It also highlighted a chance of having increased fasting blood glucose, which can be a sign of prediabetes. A visit t o my GP confirmed this. Prevention is better than cure, as they say.

Fortunately, my heart DNA test and cardiac sc reening showed no area of concern. While there’s still no indication that I am born of the stars as my beau alleges, at least I no w know how to take better care of my human form. Review by Cliff Joannou
