THE SHINY SHRIMPS

A sweet, breezy queer sports comedy from France, Cédric le Gallo and Maxime Govare’s film has been a surprise hit across the Channel, and to see it is to see why. Following a disgraced, homophobic swimming champion as he’s forced to coach an amateur gay water polo team for the Gay Games, this crowd- pleaser follows to an unsurprising feel- good formula, but does so with genuine warmth, humour and compassion.
