This scuzzier, more mellow, notunenjoyable rehash would have you thinking he has been doing much since then but getting high. It’s a true stoner comedy, with McConaughey perfectly cast as a Florida poet slacker, and a starry procession of goofy support acts: not a lot happens, but it’s candy- coloured fun. 25 October
