Carpe Diem, Santorini

Santorini is arguably the most beautiful Greek island of them all. Known for its black beaches ( and a very famous red one), it’s the ultimate spot to find peace and quiet.

The island boasts several boutique hotels, but we suggest Giorgos Kopatsaris’ Carpe Diem Santorini, in the village of Pyrgos.

Each suite — there are only 10 — has a private plunge pool as well as an outside area. All have fantastic views, especially of sunrises and a sunsets.

To make you feel even more special, while you lounge in your palatial suite, the hotel’s staff- to- guest ratio of 1: 1 means all your needs and requirements can be met.

There’s even a butler service — you might begin to think you’re staying at Downton Abbey!

If that doesn’t help you relax completely, there’s the Althea Spa with steam room, sauna and treatments inspired by nature on offer, including body scrubs, facials and massages. Yoga, pilates and private training sessions for two are also available.

When it comes to food, there are two restaurants: 270° Degrees, for all- day meze, and which is best for breakfast, and Gaia Fine Dining for dinner only.

Just a stone’s throw away from the hotel is Santo Wines, which holds a huge collection of Greek wines while aiming to preserve the biodiversity.

If you’re looking for privacy and the ultimate stay in relaxation, Carpe Diem Santorini is the place for you.

Perfect for couples or for some alone time, the hotel is for adults only, so your break won’t be ruined by any noisy children.
