CUT TO THE CHASE
Verzon House in Herefordshire is owned by Kate and William Chase, who founded Tyrrells crisps in 2002 and sold it six years later for £ 40m. The country house hotel, with eight ensuite rooms, is a 15- minute drive from the farm- based family- run distillery, which offers tours showing the traditional methods of mashing, fermenting and distilling – accompanied by a gin and tonic, of course. Back at the hotel, the bar offers a cocktail ( and mocktail) master class. There is also a brasserie restaurant or you can enjoy a classic afternoon tea.
