Ver­zon House in Here­ford­shire is owned by Kate and Wil­liam Chase, who founded Tyrrells crisps in 2002 and sold it six years later for £ 40m. The country house ho­tel, with eight en­suite rooms, is a 15- minute drive from the farm- based fam­ily- run dis­tillery, which of­fers tours show­ing the tra­di­tional meth­ods of mash­ing, fer­ment­ing and dis­till­ing – ac­com­pa­nied by a gin and tonic, of course. Back at the ho­tel, the bar of­fers a cock­tail ( and mock­tail) master class. There is also a brasserie restau­rant or you can en­joy a clas­sic af­ter­noon tea.
