BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SALON TREATMENTS AND DEPARTMENT STORES
Do you have a skin cream you simply can’t do without? Now, imagine if that product you love and use every day suddenly no longer worked for you…
That’s what happened to 36-year-old grime artist Nate Ethan Watson after he started transitioning in July 2018.
“Throughout transitioning my skin’s changed and I was having a few problems, including dry skin. Everything that worked for me before transitioning stopped working,” says Nate.
“I tried products that maybe a female would go more towards; I tried products that were specifically for men — and everything irritated my skin.”
That’s when his grooming journey with My Perfect Cosmetics (MPC) began. MPC’s ethos is that skincare has no gender — as Nate discovered when he began using the range.
“I started with the wash and used the sonic brush, but it was when I used the facial that it was crazy — I noticed the difference straight away,” he laughs. “There was no tingling, no irritation, no sensitivity. I was doing selfies without filters!”
No filters? Now that’s something we can all get behind! As Nate found, the MPC line offers the chance to enjoy salon results at home — just check out Nate’s natural glow.
Nate is now focussing on his inclusivity initiative, Trans and Non-Binary Connect, as well as planning future tours when this is allowed once more. He has also just finished shooting a documentary which follows his incredible journey both in music and in life. One thing’s for sure, whether he’s on film or on stage, Nate loves the skin he’s in.
