Kita Mean

What were your rejected drag names?

My very first drag name, for one night only, was Petra, a

Miss Piggy-esque club kid with an obnoxious voice-changing megaphone. Ever since then I have been Kita Mean. Originally, Kita was my cat’s name; I thought it would be ironic to name myself after my own pussy. Describe yourself in three emojis. Describe your drag style in five words.

Quirky. Kooky. Kitsch. Quick. Keen. Best pick-up line someone has said to you?

“The club closes in 20 minutes. Wanna get out of here before the lights come on?” So thoughtful… How would (or does) your Grindr profile read?

“Looking for love in all the wrong places.” What is your safe word?

Pringles. Because once you pop you can’t stop – and I love irony. If you could be an inanimate object, what would you be?

Confetti. I would be at all the best parties! What would a film of your life be called, and who would star as you?

It, starring Tim Curry . What would your own fragrance be called, and what would the tagline be?

Ridiculous. “Give it a taste.” Which cocktail best suits your personality?

A Long Island iced tea: a total party waiting to happen. You’ve started a cult. What is it about?

Crossdressing clowns. It’s a thing! Your house is on fire: what single item would you save?

A lipstick, so I can attempt to charm the firefighters. Let’s play Cluedo. You’ve been slayed: who did it, where and with what?

Anita Wigl’it. At Caluzzi Cabaret. With a crown and sceptre from Fierce Drag Jewels. What is your funeral song?

Send in the Clowns. What does it say on your gravestone?

“Here lays Kita Mean… on her back… GET ON!” What does your heaven look like?

Plush pillow forts and perfect temperature, where all the delicious food is zero calories.

And your hell?

A land rife with toxic masculinity and boring clothes.

Drag Race Down Which of your sisters would you haunt?

Under

Coco Jumbo. She would always be having fun. You’ve made contact with a deceased celebrity in the afterlife. Who would it be and what would you ask them?

Divine. I would ask her anything, just to hear her glorious tone speaking to me. You can spend 24 hours in somebody else’s shoes. Whose would they be and what would you get up to?

RuPaul’s. I would sign over her catalogue of gowns to the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under… me! What was the last lie you told?

Telling Anita that her orange hard front looked nice. What might it surprise people to know about you?

I am super-introverted when not in drag. Drag allows me to be wild and outrageous. You’ve made a time capsule. What’s inside?

My Drag Race crown. Winning Drag Race Down Under is the proudest thing I have ever done in my life, and I want that feeling to live on for ever.
