ON the face of it, Peter Horbury made an odd switch when he moved from Volvo to the brand’s new owner, Geely. By all accounts he heard about the switch when the Chinese company’s owner mentioned it in a news report. But the 68-year-old’s global reach has probably never been greater as a result. Horbury has been hard at work on Geely’s own line-up and the creation of Lynk & Co, a new brand that’s set to shake up markets worldwide with funky designs and a different approach to car ownership and digitalisation.
